Upload your picture and see how you would look at a ’50s prepster or an ’80s glam rocker.  Send it around and presto! — a great Halloween disguise.  Here’s me through the years . . .

Faculty Workshop

On Monday, November 3rd, from 3:30 to 5:00, Ramaker Library is offering a workshop on using ProjectMuse and JSTOR.  The workshop is for faculty and TAs.
 
ProjectMuse and JSTOR have become integral to the library’s efforts in delivering high-quality, scholarly literature for disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and fine arts.  If you are interested in learning more about using JSTOR and ProjectMuse, please join us on Wednesday afternoon.  TAs are welcome.

New E-Reference Books at Ramaker

Ramaker has recently acquired new reference works on a variety of science and social science issues:

These encyclopedia, all published by Gale in 2008, provide background about the above topics and summarize the latest developments in these fields.

George McGovern Visits NWC

October 8, 2008

Former Senator George McGovern will speak at a chapel service this Thursday, October 9, at 11:05 a.m. His topic will be world hunger, as Senator McGovern has served as the United Nations ambassador on hunger since 2001.

In addition to being a professor, U.S. representative, senator, Democratic nominee for president and humanitarian, George McGovern is also an author. Ramaker Library holds some of his writings, including his autobiography Grassroots.

Finding Scholarly Articles

Project Muse and JSTOR are two of Ramaker Library’s most used sources for finding scholarly articles. If you would like to learn more about using these full-text resources, please drop by the library on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 7:00. Librarians will be available to help you use Muse and JSTOR along with other resources.

We will meet in the Dutch Heritage Room.
